Kusamono consists of potted arrangements of grasses and flowers placed in distinctive pots or trays that evoke a particular season or location. Kusamono has become an art form in its own right. A carefully thought out kusamono will compliment the bonsai and season in which it is presented. Apart from the seasonal aspect, a Kusamono should also suggest a specific natural setting, such as a wetland, meadow, or woodland.
